This 10-class course will introduce participants to meditation techniques from both Eastern and Western traditions, in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Using journals, artwork, movement and song to enhance our understanding of the essential nature of meditation, we will explore twelve different meditation techniques, including Calm Abiding, Insight, Sending and Taking, Visualization, and moving meditation.
The class is designed to do more than just teach specific techniques. A graded series of experiences and a free exchange between class members will promote a recognition of the spacious, open and inquiring state of mind which is at the heart of all meditation experiences. With this attitude, participants will have a sound basis to continue their journeys of exploration with confidence and skill.
No prior experience in meditation is necessary.
The class is limited to ten participants, pre-registration is required.
